Program Schedule - September, 2016, through June, 2017
Meetings - First Monday of each month from September through June
at 6:30 P.M., unless otherwise noted, at
Wooster United Methodist Church,
North Market at Larwill Streets in downtown Wooster, Ohio

Please note the following changes to the monthly meetings throughout the 2016-2017 season:
*  The featured program will normally begin at 6:30 PM followed by the business meeting;
*  A monthly contest will replace the former critique - bring or digitally submit 2 photos, if printed photo, it must be       large enough to be seen, preferably 8 x 10 inches or larger - if digital photos they must be submitted by the night 
    before the meeting by e-mail to
*  A short period will be allowed for guests (or members) to ask a photography related question;
*  Refreshment break may change based on the schedule for each program. 
Monthly contest submissions will be limited to two (2) entries per person, either digital or print, and must be anonymous, that is, no identifying mark of any kind including copyright mark.  Winners of the Contest Theme each month will receive an Award of Merit Certification.  In addition, all Award of Merit winning photos for the year will be voted for Best Overall Image at the end of our June, 2017, meeting.  Winner will receive individual club membership for the following 2017-2018 season valued at $15 dollars.

Assigned Topic: "Life in Wayne County"   You have until May 2017 to determine which four (4) images you will submit for our June 5, 2017 meeting - either digital or 8 x 10 inch or larger print.

Tuesday, September 6, 2016 - (Monday is Labor Day) - "Cell Phone & Tablet Photography" by Best Buy's Geek Squad
Contest theme: Summer Fun - submit up to two (2) images.  Zakk Sheehan first winner - "Lit Forest"
NOTE: Our meeting for Sept 6th will be in the second floor Turney Lounge since it falls on a Tuesday.  We have also been notified that we need to be out of the building by 8:30 PM.

Monday, October 3, 2016 - "Winter Photography" by Jerry Jelinek  Learn some of the tricks of making good images in unfriendly weather (including bright snow) and see one of Jerry's Winter videos. 
Contest theme: Agriculture - submit up to two (2) images.
Bring in up to four (4) images mat size 11 x 14 up to 16 x 20 inches, no frames.  Help in installing the exhibit at the Wooster Community Center is welcomed on October 10, 2016 at 2:30 PM.

Saturday, October 8, 2016 - Fall Field Trip to OARDC - Meet at the arboretum between 9 and 10 AM - yu will spot our members in that general area - go north then west toward the fish/lily pond if you don't spot us, and finally to the rose garden.

Monday, November 7, 2016 - "Creative Photography" by Weyman Jackson.
Contest theme: Autumn - submit up to two (2) images.
Refreshments:  Linda Rusinko

Exhibit - December 8 - December 23, 2016 - Wayne Center for the Arts - December 15, 2016, Open House/Reception.  Take to the Art Center by December 3, 2016, up to four (4) images framed with wire hangers, framed sizes 11 x 14 and up, over-sized images are encouraged.  Everyone please bring hot or cold snacks for the Open House/Reception on December 15.  This is our premier exhibit.

Monday, December 5, 2016 - "Winter Photography" by all WCC members.  Practice what you learned in October and submit four (4) images to present either digital or print - this is not a contest.  
Reminder: everyone please bring hot or cold snacks to the Art Center on Thursday, December 15, 2016, by 5:30 PM for the Exhibit/Open House.
Contest theme: Architecture - submit up to two (2) images.
Refreshments:  All members - Holiday type goodies or fresh fruit 

Monday, January 2, 2017 - "New Members' Photography" by Denise Bacher, Kevin Gowins and Zakk Sheehan.
Contest theme: Food and festivities - submit up to two (2) images.

Monday, February 6, 2017 - "Macro Photography" DVD featuring National Geographic Photographer Joe Santore.
Bring up to four (4) framed images with wire hangers, frame size 11 x 14 to 16 x 20 inches for the exhibit at the Orrville Library to be installed the following day.  Help is needed.
Contest theme: Night Photography - submit up to two (2) images.

Monday, March 6, 2017"Black & White (Conversion) Photography" by Paul Keske of the Richland County CC.  
Contest theme: Comic Relief - submit up to two (2) images.

Monday, April 3, 2017, Annual Banquet @ Jake's on old US Rt 30 east (Lincoln Way East) (we will serve ourselves from the buffet at 6:00 PM) - "Drone Photography" by Brett Washburn of Final Approach, LLC.
There is no contest nor refreshments this month, since this is our annual banquet.  The Nominating Committee for the election of officers will be appointed.
Bring up to four (4) matted (unframed) images, mat size 11 x 14 to 16 x 20 inches, for our exhibit at the Wayne County Public Library.  Help is needed to mount the exhibit.

Monday, May 1, 2017"Editing with Photoshop" by Michael Petitto.  Report of Nominating Committee.
Contest theme: Nature and Wildlife -  submit up to two (2) images.

Saturday, May 13, 2017 - Spring Field Trip to The Wilderness Center near Milmot US Rt 250 east

Monday, June 5, 2017 - Assigned Topic: "Life in Wayne County" by all club participants.  Election of officers.  
Please bring up to four (4) images to present, either digital or larger prints, this is not a contest.
Contest theme: Portraits - submit one (1) image.  Ron Sands will judge the contest and will award cash prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.
All previous monthly Award of Merit winners please bring your winning photo to be entered in the Best Overall Image after the winner of this month's contest is determined.  Winner will receive individual club membership for the following 2017-2018 season valued at $15 dollars.

July and August - No meetings (summer recess) - See you next September, the day after Labor Day, Tuesday, September 5, 2017.


 Note: Digital images used in presentations must be resized to a maximum of 1200 pixels on the longest side.  Rename your images with your initials followed by a one digit consecutive number except for monthly contests where no identifying marks may appear.
